When applying to colleges and/or universities, it is best to do so as early as possible. The earlier you apply, the better chances you will have of being accepted into your program of interest. As expected, many college courses fill up quickly, which is why early applications often stand a better chance of acceptance.
Before applying to certain colleges and/or universities, it is a good idea to review their freshman enrollment requirements. These requirements generally pertain to anyone who has graduated from high school within the past five years. Beyond that, required high school courses are not as highly considered due to the fact that so much time has passed. Therefore, even if you did not take the necessary high school courses, you may be able to attend the college of your choice if you are willing to wait for five or more years before enrolling.
Almost every college and/or university charges an application fee when applying. This fee is generally very reasonable and is often less than $50.00. This is a non-refundable fee, which is not refunded for any reason including a denial of acceptance. Applications to colleges and/or universities will often be under advisement for several weeks. At that time, the school will either send a letter of congratulations or one of denial.
Many modern colleges and universities have websites and even allow applications to be submitted online. This is believed to speed up the application process and may result in a quicker decision than if submitted by mail. In the case of online applications, the application fee will generally be charged to a major credit card. If you do not have a credit card, you may have to mail your application along with a check or money order. It is important to remember that, under no circumstances, should you ever send cash through the mail.
Once you receive the college or university’s acceptance, if applicable, it will be time to begin plans for enrollment. Many do not know this, but there is a big difference between acceptance and enrollment. Being accepted does not automatically mean the student is enrolled as this is just another step in the quest for a college education. During enrollment, a class schedule will be granted and, if requested, a campus room will be assigned. There are a number of living arrangements for college students, which may include on-campus housing, living with roommates, living alone or living at home with family. Living on campus is not a requirement of colleges or universities, but it does make for an easier commute to and from class.

However what should your strategy be if you have
no awards and achievements (other than being
school prefect - somehow all MBA candidates are
school prefects) to speak of and you found yourself
selected by one of the IIM’s or other top tier
B-schools.
For you to succeed here are a few pointers that can
aid in the process:
1) Be clear about your goals: In your case you will
have to be definitive about what you want to achieve
in the next 3-5 years and exactly how an MBA will
fit in the picture. Suppose you are an Arts graduate,
suppose Psychology Honors. Now you should focus
on the industry to begin with- suppose Finance and
Investment Analysis. You can state that a major
part of the investment analysis is examining trading
psychology. Why some stocks tick despite poor
fundamentals and some fail to move despite good
fundamentals. You can state that you have enough
of numerical understanding and backed by an MBA
in finance you could carve out a strong niche in the
area of Investment Analysis and Dealing of
securities.
2) Show your ability to think business: If you have
never won a award, examine activities that seem to
add value to some process. For example you could
start a blog on a topic such as Tax planning for
home based professionals. Talk about what kind of
advice and articles you wrote for the blog and how
popular your blog was by examining the page views
received from the blog. You can start a blog on
wordpress or blogger as they allow free blogs and
also have a statistics section to measure how many
page views you received.
3) Be well prepared to talk about your academics: Be
clear of the basic fundamentals, as they will surely
want to know how serious you were about your
studies. Go over the major fundamentals and be sure
to be able to answer them
It is not an easy task to prepare for mbainterview.in/ IIM Personal Interview questions . So don’t punish yourself
mentally if the initial answers you write don’t seem
impressive enough.
Keep practicing to make your answers better and you may end up doing quite well at the squidoo.com/win-iim-group-discussion-personal-interview/ IIM Personal Interview. Get more tips on how to perform for the mbainterview.in/articles/mba_article_10.html IIM Personal Interview questions

Let’s describe this idea as a Self Generating a Tsunami-Perpetual Wave Pattern Making Machine to Derive Mini-Hydro Power Systems in Rivers.
Hydro-Mini Tsunami-Perpetual Wave Making Machine.
Energy can not be created or destroyed but we can convert the dynamic flow of the river into energy to divert part of the current for Hydro and water delivery up hill. So in this case we will not break that law. You see the dynamic river flow of the water is all the power we need to create this system of hydro power.
A river water flow generated system that pushes back a plow under water in increments like a come-a-long. Then when it gets all the way back it pivots and lets go and the plow on a spring type system then sends a wave into the shore it a precise point where there is a hydro-electric generator. Using the same types of flows produced by Tsunamis.
The water flows through the generator up hill and it is slowed by the friction of the generator and gravity, but enough to make it into a set of tubes that are vertically “S” Curved like Mullholland invented to deliver water to CA up hill. Where the water is sucked along like a straw once it is primed.
The water is then sent into the nearby city or village (Yes Village as in Africa for Farming and water). Once the machine makes the wave it’s head pivots by the water flow and it is slowly cranked against stream by the head or plow is inline with the direction of flow since the back of the plow is shaped like a tetra heden and therefore easier to move forward against the downward flow upon it. It is then pivoted back horizontal to the direction of flow and cranks it back again. Repeating every 2 minutes. Now four of these in a diamond pattern facing the river are set to deliver the waves, so you have nearly a constant flow of water and energy. If anyone is interested in this idea, I have drawings and am pretty confindent a small version can be built relatively cheaply.
Such simple ideas like this can assist countries without power with their needs so they can develop agriculture and farming, perhaps teaching a man to fish may in fact be better than delivering fishes or wheat from half way around the world. Helping the farmer with the needs for irrigation flow and teaching them to do the rest by farming.

Biodiesel and biofuel production is growing at an exponentially increasing rate as new test-bed plants and full production facilities are being approved every month across Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
At present, biofuel production is considered experimental, and compared with other fuel production techniques, the total output is still very low. Feedstock supply lines are therefore quite limited, either being sourced from widely distributed waste products of other industries, or from niche crops like canola, a relatively new rapeseed cultivar. This creates a problem for both major and minor biodiesel producers, who have the daunting task of producing homogeneous, high quality fuel sourced from feedstock of varying and ultimately unknown purity and content. The market has responded to the demands of these new industries to supply quality assurance biodiesel testing equipment for every production scale.
Given the climbing public awareness of global warming and strains on global energy output, governments and corporations around the world are fronting the expense of rebates, research grants, and tax breaks for operators in industries which work towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions, making the concept of small, high-tech niche-industry start-ups economically viable. This has attracted big investment dollars in Brazil, the United States, and some members of the EU - most notable among these being Germany, where there are dozens of medium and large-scale alternative energy generation plants.
Biodiesel is defined as a diesel equivalent produced via transesterification of common fats and oils. There are three main avenues of supply of feedstock to biodiesel production plants. The first of these is dedicated crops grown specifically for their organic oils. Examples of these include soy beans, canola (rapeseed), oil palms, and algae. Canola and soy accounts for most of the total biodiesel production feedstock for the world, as it can be grown with conventional farming techniques, with predictable results.
The crop with the potential to produce the most oil is actually a species of algae, Botryococcus braunii, however, there remain serious doubts about its viability as a crop. Medium scale ventures prefer the waste by-products of other farming methods. The woody part of corn plants, left over wood pulp, and other biomass materials can be used as a substrate for biodiesel or ethanol producing bacteria. This supply is desirable for medium-scale producers as it results from otherwise less valuable by-products that can be obtained in reasonably large quantities.
Small-scale and hobbyist biodiesel producers are most likely to make use of waste vegetable oils and animal fats from cooking and commercial food production, as these are ubiquitous, but usually available only in smaller quantities, and hobby users are not likely to need any more raw feedstock than is necessary for a tank of fuel in their car every week. Furthermore, it is impractical for larger producers to collect kitchen waste in the same way an individual can, at least until demand grows enough for such infrastructure to be built.
Large scale producers have ongoing testing requirements for samples from billions of gallons biofuel every year. Due to the experimental nature of the industry, initial investment for such projects is quite expensive, however, due to the mostly uniform content of the feedstock crops used, large biodiesel production plants have run fairly reliably once established. For big biodiesel, the emphasis is on quality assurance: There are stringent requirements put on producers to keep levels of pollutants and various contaminants under tight control. Areas tested can include alcohol content, ester content, sulfur, heavy metal, and water quotas.
Additionally, biodiesel must exhibit certain physical characteristics like viscosity and flashpoint temperature. Small and medium scale producers have slightly different challenges to overcome, as they often do not sell their product, but rather, use it internally to power on-site farming machinery, or in the case of a hobbyist, the family sedan. The challenge here is not in producing product that meets stringent sales requirements (although it is desirable), but rather, ensuring that the higher number of relatively small batches are safe and uniform, so as not to produce content that damages the engines of machinery and equipment.
While this work can be done in-house, it is far more economically viable for producers to contract out as possible. Larger testing enterprises usually have of at least one HPLC (High Pressure Liquid Chromatography) machine or Gas Chromatograph, which are available for less than US$20,000, as well as all the appropriate glassware and apparatus to conduct titrations and other analytic procedures. At the hobby end of the market are self-contained biodiesel reaction vessel kits available for less than $500, and biodiesel testing kits for testing small quantities of product which can be sourced for less than $50.
With the growing public concern over the excess of atmospheric carbon, world peak oil production, and alternative energy solutions, biodiesel is beginning to look like an increasingly appealing stepping stone in between petroleum products and a completely clean implementation of energy storage, like hydrogen. Biodiesel testing requirements factor into the equation for small, medium, and large scale producers to ensure a supply of quality product.
With growing environmental concern of burning fossil fuels, biodiesel is a stepping stone for an alternative energy source. To ensure a high quality biodiesel fuel source, biodiesel testing kits are available from Midwest Laboratories.

Juvenile violence in United Kingdom is caused with a huge number of sources from which children learn about violence. Level of family relations might drop down after having any problems in family, unsteady control and disregardness of raising antisocial behavior of a child. In cases of earlier displays of violence public places like educational institutions usually become places where teenagers find respect and recognition through cruelty. ¾ of mothers in United Kingdom have admitted that if any kind of violent acts had place in their families kids observed them. It is very difficult to avoid continuation of spread of violence once it has begun. Results of emotional, physical or sexual abuse grow with time into violent attitude and the risk of its manifestation in critical situations increases.
Let’s analyze what are the major reasons of growing juvenile violence in Great Britain. There are many reasons because of which youth may exhibit violent behavior but nature of the main one lies in erroneous attitude of their parents. There is very little time left for their kids after all day is usually spent at work. The situation gets worse because of a violence in society and its influence on youth. Nowadays children spend the biggest part of a free time watching different television programs where pictures of violence have a big place. What is being watched by children is controlled only by half of parents in United Kingdom. With all that the majority of all programs display rude behavior in real life and only a quarter of them shows what are the results of violence. Two major factors that cause violence among children are parent neglect and violence in community though there are many other dangerous causes of teenage criminality.

There is no such thing as having too much education. In fact, more and more professionals are realizing that further education can actually help them in their careers. There are certain positions in companies that in which eligible job candidates are required to have either a Masters of Doctorate level education or even a second degree in another specialization that is more in tune to the responsibilities that the position entails.
But the inherent difficulty of pursuing any type of additional education among professionals is time. There is just not enough of it to go around. In between the demands of the workplace, there are also responsibilities and expectations that need to be fulfilled at home (as a father or as a husband). This makes it so much harder for working professionals to squeeze in going to school into their already tight daily schedules.
Fortunately, new avenues have been opened with regards to the pursuit of higher knowledge among busy individuals. The rise of online college education has been able to meet the specific and highly specialized needs of working professionals. With an online education – gaining knowledge has been freed from the confines of a school building and has now entered the domain of the individual in whatever place or time that is convenient to him. This liberation of education has truly revolutionized the way we as individuals and professionals can attain additional knowledge and skills.
Because of the very nature of online education, it effectively offers two enticing benefits to professionals – cost and flexibility.
Since a large number of working professionals have families or are planning to have a family, the cost advantage of online education makes it a very attractive proposition to them. Although the tuition that needs to be paid may be the same amount that is paid with “regular” schools, you get to save on other education-related costs. Some of these costs could be the commuting expenses to and from the school, school-related materials and supplies, miscellaneous expenses that are usually incurred when in a school but is eliminated because of the virtual nature of online education. There are also some intangible costs, like the stress an individual feels when he has to rush from the office to the school and from the school to the home. Online education effectively eliminates this cost. Yes, there may be other incurred costs related to getting an online education – most notably the internet connection fees – but since most homes already have a ready connection anyway, this cost becomes insignificant.
Another important benefit of online education is flexibility. This could probably be the most important benefit of getting an online education. For people who have to juggle time between work and home, the relative flexibility in time with regards to online classes is a great enticement to enroll and further their personal development. An individual who wants to pursue higher or specialized education using online channels will never have to worry about commuting to a school (except for certain programs that require minimal visits to the campus). He can just rush home from work and learn from the comfort of his own home.
This flexibility benefit has not gone unnoticed by the employers themselves. In fact, more and more business owners are realizing that online education is a great tool for them further improve the skills of their workers without sacrificing productivity or incurring too much in terms of the cost of education. What’s more, employers are finally realizing that investing in education for their employees returns in the form of a more trained workforce that can more effectively do their assigned tasks and roles in the company – and this alone makes this investment all worth it.

Acupuncture studies are indeed one of the fastest growing academic disciplines. Today, there are ample educational opportunities in which students and practitioners alike may participate. For starters, adult learners that are interested in attaining their Master’s in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine should know that this course is quite compelling and comprehensive in nature. Acupuncture studies and coursework will include an in-depth curriculum centered on fundamental aspects of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
While enrolled at an acupuncture college or school, students will engage in wide-ranging acupuncture studies designed to prepare students with vital skills necessary for becoming a licensed acupuncturist. Though individual schools vary in course programs, one can expect to gain a wealth of skills and practical training. Most acupuncture studies may include but are not limited to needling techniques (acupuncture); Tai Chi; Qigong; Tui Na; Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM); Moxibustion; herbal medicine; cupping; massage; acupressure or shiatsu; and relative subject matter.
A good example of one of the more broadly taught acupuncture and Oriental Medicine studies is Tui Na. Tui Na (pronounced as “twee-nah”) is a specific style of acupressure that is facilitated by multiple strokes that are applied to acupressure points and meridians. Another primary acupuncture and Chinese Medicine study is Tai Chi (pronounced “ty-chee”). Interestingly enough, Tai Chi is both martial art and healing art. Though known as an ancient Chinese exercise and fighting technique, Tai Chi has presented itself to be a good practice for overall health and wellbeing. So much so, that many individuals suffering from arthritis have taken up the exercise.
In general, acupuncture studies may not only lead to rewarding health careers, but they may also help individuals to learn how to use natural healing principles and applications to improve general health constitution.

Sovereignty of the Falkland Islands had long been a point of dispute between Britain and Argentina. Events came to a head in 1982, when planned cut-backs to the British Royal Navy convinced Argentina’s ruling military junta that Britain no longer had the will or capability to defend the islands. The Falklands War, fought over these remote South Atlantic islands were the result.
Here are 13 decisive points in the conflict.
1. South Georgia (19th March 1982) - A group of Argentines, ostensibly on a scrap metal salvage mission, land on South Georgia and raise the Argentine flag.
2. Operacion Azul (2nd April 1982) - The Argentine navy lands a military force in the Falklands Islands proper, overwhelming the tiny British garrison of Royal Marines.
3. Dispatch of the Task Force (3rd April 1982) - First Sea Lord, Sir Henry Leach, convinces Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher to send a naval task force with the words, “because if we don’t do that, in a few months we will be living in a different country whose word will for little!”
4. South Georgia (25th April 1982) - British Special Forces and Royal Marines recapture South Georgia. The Argentine submarine Santa Fe is crippled during the fighting.
5. Operation Black Buck (1st May 1982) - A Royal Air Force Vulcan bombs the Port Stanley airfield runway, denying use of the airfield to Argentine fast jets.
6. General Belgrano (2nd May 1982) - The Argentine cruiser ARA General Belgrano is sank by the Royal Navy nuclear submarine, HMS Conqueror. The Argentine Navy withdraws to port and plays no further part in the war.
7. Sheffield (4th May 1982) - The Argentine airforce sinks the Royal Navy’s HMS Sheffield using an Exocet missile. It is the first of many British naval losses to Argentine air attack.
8. Pebble Island (14th to 15th May 1982) - British Special Forces raid the Argentine airbase at Pebble Island, destroying 11 Argentine aircraft.
9. San Carlos (23rd May 1982) - British troops land at San Carlos Water. Although, British ships come under severe Argentine air attack in “bomb alley”, the Argentine’s are unable to dislodge the British bridgehead.
10. Goose Green (27th to 28th May 1982) - British troops defeat Argentine forces defending the settlement at Goose Green in the first major land battle of the war.
11. Bluff Cove (8th June 1982) - British troops landing from the RFA Sir Galahad and Sir Tristram at Bluff Cove, come under Argentine air attack and suffer horrific casualties. However, even these losses are unable to stop the British advance on the ground.
12. Mount Longdown, Two Sisters and Mount Harriet (11th to 12th June 1982) - British troops capture these three peaks in bitter fighting with Argentine ground forces.
13. Mount Tumbledown and Wireless Ridge (13th to 14th June 1982) - British troops capture these peaks which overlook Port Stanley in the last major land battle of the war. Argentine forces in Port Stanley begin to raise white flags, and a surrender of all Argentine forces in the Falkland Islands is negotiated soon after.

Online courses are becoming very popular. Most colleges and universities offer online courses either as degree courses or to supplement college education. Also there are many Internet based institutions that offer online courses.
When online courses are compared with conventional classroom courses they are found to have both advantages and disadvantages. The greatest advantage that online courses provide is flexibility. There is no set time for the class. The student can read the material and complete the assignments as per his or her convenience as long as it fits within the overall schedule. This is very important to those who are working while taking the course. They can study early in the morning or late at night. And that they can do so from their homes is an added advantage.
An unimaginable range of online courses is available. They cover the standard subjects taught in colleges. Professional online courses (such as portfolio management) as well as vocational online courses are also available. One simply has to enter the subject in a search engine and a list of web sites offering the course will appear. Online courses are accelerated courses. They are focussed and compressed and often take less time to complete than conventional courses.
The major disadvantage of online courses is their acceptability by employers and conventional educational institutes. Many courses are offered by credible organizations and would be acceptable, however many would not. Hence if the online course is being taken for furthering ones employment potential or for gaining admission into a conventional college its acceptability should be ascertained. The other problem with online courses is that they require a lot of self-motivation. The student is not being supervised on a day-to-day basis and if he or she fails to turn in an assignment a zero would be given and few questions would be asked.
Hence one should ascertain ones needs and commitment before deciding whether to take an online course and having decided to do so, he or she should take time to search for the best possible online course available.
