What is a UUV? UUV is the abbreviation given to Unmanned Underwater Vehicle. It is a mini-submarine without anyone in it. Is it possible to use UUVs to farm fish in lakes, reservoirs and the ocean? Can UUVs keep a watchful eye on Algae Blooms and deliver micro-encapsulation timed release anti algae chemicals?
Can an UUV find the Lock Nest monster, find the secrets of the King Crabs, Migrate with the gray whales, guard our costs from drug smugglers and international terrorists all at the same time? The answer maybe yes. A UUV which uses ELF - extremely low frequency can keep schools of fish happy and watch over the dangerous growth of Algae Blooms. While cruising around under the surface they can come up for reloading by US Coast Guard or come up to greet smugglers, illegal aliens, pirates or even International Terrorists. There has been talk of such UUVs with single purposes
parthe.net/_cwg0703/00000055.htm
but why not lease them to corporate fish farmers, EPA for deleting unwanted Red tide style algae blooms such as off the coast of West Coast Southern Florida. The same units can be available for missions of Homeland Security, or rescue of people in pleasure craft? Multi-use UUVs can assist in ROI costs and we will discover other uses for them for science and security and R and D. Thus needing more units and driving costs down. Currently the development are quite high but costs can be spread out over many more units. It is important to note that when R and D dollars are spent on such homeland security products or in time of war, weapons, then we can all be the better for it. AUVs on other missions can warn of Tsunami Waves
coming into harbors, running up into rivers and retention basins or headed for populated shore lines. They can monitor seismic events and hurricane weather.
Unmanned Underwater Vehicles are now available and this technology will eliminate security issues, environmental problems and act as warning devices to protect our civilization.

Polar bears have long fascinated us. With their thick, white coats, they look incredibly cuddly, particularly the cubs. In truth, they are the biggest and most powerful bears on the planet. Alas, they may be added to the endangered species list.
Polar bears are an amazingly beautiful animal. Unfortunately, they are under a lot of pressure as a species due to climate change in the Arctic. Receding ice and pollution issues are leading to concerns polar bears may be facing extinction. To better understand polar bears, here’s an overview of this amazing animal.
While penguins are only found in Antarctica, polar bears are only found in the Arctic Circle. This, of course, means they are particularly susceptible to any environmental changes in the Arctic.
Polar bears are the largest bear species by over 400 pounds on average. They are primarily solitary creatures. For food, seal is always on the menu, but they will also scavenge if they come across something tasty. Interestingly, polar bears never drink water. They get it all from their meals.
Polar bears are known for their beautiful white coats. In truth, the coats are not white. The hairs are colorless, hollow tubes that absorb the light giving them the bears their white color. Polar bear skin is actually black like their noses. A common myth is the hollow tubes of polar bear skin can act like fiber optics for your phone. This myth has been disproved, but it gives you an idea of the nature of the hairs.
Female polar bears usually give birth in the last two months of the year. They almost always give birth to twins. When it is time to do so, the mothers will dig dens out of the snow and ice. They will remain in the den without food until the cubs are able to leave.
When born, polar bear cubs are absolutely tiny. They weigh less than one pound, which is pretty amazing considering an adult polar bear can weigh 1,100 pounds on average. After birth, the mother will stay with the cubs for two years and train them in all aspects of polar bear etiquette. After that she abandons them to their own fates. The fathers take no part in the raising of the cubs.
As with many animals, polar bears have some unique characteristics. They can walk up to 40 miles a day and swim up to 60. To catch seals, they stand over a breathing hole and wait for a seal to come up for air. They then swat the seal with their left paw, always their left paw for some unknown reason. After eating, they can go five days without swatting another seal.
As of the writing of this article, polar bear populations are under duress as the Arctic undergoes fundamental changes. Ice is melting and so is the territory of the polar bear. Latest estimates indicate only 25,000 polar bears remain.

Dreams are defined, loosely, as a “sequence of sensations, images, thoughts, etc., passing through a sleeping person’s mind”
Dreams reveal a lot about our personality, our hopes and fears and that’s why dream interpretation is considered so important by many people.
Dream interpretation falls into several different groups that can be categorized as:
• Dreams from the physical body
• Food (digestive dreams)
• Health
• Psychological
• Dreams from the spiritual realm
• Precognitive and future
• New Information and Knowledge
• Dreams of the deceased or spirit guides
With dream interpretation it is important to understand our dreams in the context of our thoughts, conscious and unconscious, expressed or repressed.
Our dreams are free and unhindered
Dreaming can serve as an outlet for our thoughts and stimuli we repress during the day.
Dreaming can serve as a platform to warn for the future, explain the past, or even teach lessons about ourselves and how to grow and improve.
As we go to sleep at night and slip into our dream state, we are liberated and can behave and act in a manner that we do not allow ourselves in our waking life.
Dream Interpretation
Let’s look at dream interpretation and see what our dreams can mean to us.
We will not present to you a Freudian or Jungian psychological approach to dream interpretation, but a traditional, age-old and ageless system for understanding what you dreams can mean to you.
• Commonplace Dreams
Here you can see a more cursory analysis to some of the commonplace dreams that most people may have at one time or another. You may dream of losing your teeth, seeing or riding a horse, or of flying. These are all dreams shared by a great many people.
A mysterious element of dreams where people of diverse backgrounds, of varying experiences, and of different ages can all share the same dreams.
This serves to remind us that we are all not that different as we may imagine.
Philosophers and psychologists have argued that our shared dream experiences connect us as a human race. After all, we share similar concerns, hopes and fears.
• First Steps in Dream Interpretation
The first step in dream interpretation is to record your dream as soon as you wake up. Have paper and pen next to your bed.
Should you see a dream, as soon as you awaken, write down what you saw. Underline any important points (those that impressed you, and to which you had a reaction – positive or negative.
• Obtain a Reliable Dreamer’s Dictionary.
Readily available in bookstores or on the net, get yourself a reliable dreamer’s dictionary.
• Determine the dream’s main theme (or theme symbols)
All dreams have one underlying theme to which the dreamer relates. “I dreamt of my mother last night” (where the dreamer’s mother is deceased). This describes the theme.
• An Example of Dream Interpretation
A dreamer dreamt of seeing his mother (deceased), and she was preparing bread and sweets for him. While sitting in the kitchen with his mother, the dreamer noticed the garden, and it was full of flowers.
Roughly interpreted, seeing one’s dead mother could mean she actually visited him (in sleep we are closer to the veil that divides the material and spiritual world). The fact that she was preparing bread and sweets may have meant that his efforts in life (personal of business) are coming to fruition.
Seeing the garden full of flowers may have been the confirmation that indeed, he is about to receive the credit and success for which he has labored.
• The final step in learning to interpret your dreams
This can lead you into understanding your dreams, and applying that understanding to address and confront your hopes and fears

Most parents want to see their child fare better or have greater success than they did both personally and professionally. To that end parents often try to teach their children valuable life skills and morals that will help them to get ahead of the competition. Often, though words of wisdom simply aren’t enough to help the child succeed. A good plan for the future is critical to giving a child a head start in life.
For most people the plan consists of helping the child prepare to go to college. Great pressure is put on the child to not only take college preparatory examinations, such as the SAT or ACT, but to score very high on the tests so as to gain entrance to the most prestigious universities. Sadly, many students do not perform well when taking examinations under such tremendous strain. As a result, their lackluster performance will exclude them from gaining entrance to the exclusive Ivy League universities. The option of attending a public university is still available but the poor performance on the examination could leave the student with feelings of inadequacy. Entering college with the idea of feeling like he or she is not smart enough will set up the student for failure before the post-secondary education can even begin.
Additionally, whether it is a private or public university the cost of obtaining an advanced education is prohibitive. Housing must be paid for whether on or off campus; there are constant books and tuition fees along with general living expenses. Obtaining a four year degree can leave both the parents and the student deep in debt. Besides the cost of the education there is also the factor that many students do not like attending school. Therefore, the faster an educational program can be administered the greater the student’s chance for successfully completing it.
So what’s the answer? Online career training is the way to go. This type of education is comprehensive, convenient and quick. Students can choose a subject of interest to them, enroll online and begin learning almost instantly. These are self-paced courses so the material can be covered as quickly or as slowly as the student desires. As long as internet access is available the student can learn at any time of the day at any location preferred. Upon completion of their career training the student is fully prepared to enter the workforce and start using the practical knowledge and experience gained. Since the career training courses can be paid for in advance there will be no heavy debts to pay back. If parents really want to prepare their children for a great career later they should definitely look into online career training.

Not so long ago, the actor Tom Cruise made a few pointed criticisms of psychiatry on the Today Show and was widely attacked for doing so. It seems that anyone who speaks out publicly risks drawing the ire of the defenders of psychiatry. Hardly surprising. A great many families in the US and Canada have members who are receiving psychiatric treatment, even if it happens to be one of the kids on a daily dose of Ritalin.
People who engage in criticism of the profession are often accused of seeking revenge for negative experiences they have had when under psychiatric care. Their opinion is viewed as partisan and lacking in objectivity. So I should probably state at the outset, that I have never had any dealings with psychiatry personally … never been on any psychiatric drugs … and have nobody in my immediate family who has been in psychiatric care. The criticisms laid out in this article are based on research and stem from a personal conviction that psychiatry as it is currently practiced, especially in relation to drug use, has inherent dangers that should absolutely be addressed.
Psychiatry is big business. The profession is hand-in-glove with the pharmaceutical industry and there are a great many connections, financial and professional, that link the two bodies. Their combined lobbying power and influence is enormous. They aren’t likely to undertake substantive change in response to criticism when increasing numbers of citizens are being funneled into their facilities and drug regimens, feeding the ever-expanding cash cow that the industry and its subsidiaries has become.
Over six million children in the US are on drugs that control the symptoms of so-called Attention Deficit Disorder - ADD. There are millions of kids on anti-depressant and anti-psychotic drugs. Despite the clinical hype surrounding these drugs, the actual clinical methods employed for diagnosis are bogus to non-existent. For the most part the average psychiatrist bases his/her clinical assessments on guidelines that support the preconceptions and prejudices of the profession.
There is absolutely no basis for describing ADD or ADHD as “a disease”, because psychiatry cannot establish any clinical data that offers a clear biological cause for this behavior across-the- board. Clinical jargon to justify their efforts to render non-conformist behavior “pathological”, is a long way from proving ADD is a disease.
In order to establish a scientific basis for labeling a behavioral trait “a disease”, you have to first observe the identical set of symptoms in others. Empirical research is then conducted in a controlled setting in order to seek the cause - be it a toxin, virus or other pathogen. The remedy found doesn’t merely mask the condition, but provides a cure.
Psychiatric diagnostics not only fail to meet scientific standards of inquiry, but the psychiatric drugs that have deluged our society offer no cure. They merely mask symptoms and control people who have been labeled as “schizophrenic”, “psychotic” or “hyper”.
It is unethical to mass label children as ADD or ADHD afflicted, and then proceed to drug these children into passive compliance … in some cases into a vegetative state. Such “troublesome” kids were once called brats or rascals, and were often admired by their peers. Their highly individualistic behavior in times past wasn’t viewed as a psychiatric condition, but rather behavior that could potentially be channeled into prowess; enable them to show heroism on the battlefield or scale a high mountain.
If you look back at the childhood histories of a lot of the great action figures of history, you will find that as kids they often exhibited traits that got them into trouble. If these people had been drugged when they were children, made compliant and passive-receptive, it is extremely doubtful that they would have ever made their mark on history.
The truth behind this psychiatric labeling of children, is that our very humanity and distinctiveness as individuals has become the target of a profession that tries to pathologize every quirk and peculiarity, so as to come up with a label they can then front as a new syndrome or disease. Needless to say new syndromes will create the need for even more drugs and add to the growing wealth of the psych/pharma conglomerate.
The APA’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, presents itself as scientific, when nothing could be further from the truth. It basically compiles a list of conditions that they try to typify as a lapse from some hypothetical mental health norm, and so potentially a psychiatric condition worthy of a new label.
The SMD has included “conditions” such as … feeling angry, difficulty with reading, bad handwriting, inability to do math, fear of flying, coffee phobia … in the list of potential disorders. They attempt to attach symptoms to these conditions, with the aim of coming up with yet more labels.
Human nature itself has become the stalking ground of a profession that seeks to make money by discovering pathology, where formerly there was simply an eccentric trait, a charming foible or a peculiar penchant. This isn’t to suggest that more extreme forms of aberrant behavior aren’t an issue, it’s just that the reach of psychiatry has become rather like a huge drift net that hauls in behavioral deviations in a never-ending quest for new pathologies.
Cases can of course be made for medicating adults with severe behavioral problems who are a danger to themselves and others. However the use of powerful drugs to control children en masse is worrisome.
Health professionals have suggested that diet could well be an important factor in explaining the apparent increase in the number of hyperactive children. Nutritional deficiencies can indeed give rise to such behavior. Another factor could be the child’s domestic environment - levels of anger and disruption to which the child is exposed.
Psychiatry is often a short-cut and a quick-fix that offers no real solution to the root problem. Moreover this drugging strategy will create its own set of problems in the future because once a child’s developmental processes have been interfered with like this, all bets are off with respect to long term outcomes.
The APA provides a brief article that supposedly clarifies the issue of how simple anti-social behavior shades into dysfunction, and in most cases individual psychiatrists decide which labels to apply in an ad hoc fashion based on such sketchy guidelines. It has become a bit of a medical sham, and they get away with making it up as they go along because the average person lacks both time, knowledge and inclination to demand more detailed information.
The ongoing invention of ever-new disorders and accompanying labels, has more to do with money and social control, than it has with health. The APA’s ever-expanding Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, has increased the scope of psychiatrists to label and drug people based on guidelines that fall short of scientific standards.
In general terms, the criteria used by psychiatry to gauge dysfunctional behavior, relates to the ways in which individual behavior diverges from majority, or communal behavior. While psychiatrists don’t like to view it this way, the profession is in fact a powerful tool of social control and has often been used against people who are regarded as a threat to the status quo. Many psychiatric patients for example believe they have been “pathologized” for simply acting in a manner that is outside the norm.
The clinical misrepresentations of psychiatry are most evident in exaggerated descriptions of the efficacy of drugs and the tendency to minimize information relating to negative side-effects. For example, claims that drugs “cure” chemical imbalances is inaccurate. More often than not they create a whole host of secondary symptoms that mask the original condition. Just because a person ceases to act-out and becomes zombie-like and compliant, is not indicative of a cure.
There is also a political/financial aspect to all of this that users of psychiatry need to be aware of. The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders isn’t merely a user’s guide to the latest dysfunction, it is also a tool that enables psychiatrists and pharmaceutical companies to line their pockets.
DMS data was used to coerce insurance companies to come up with so-called “full coverage” that lists many of the debatable mental conditions cited by psychiatry. There is no possible way you can equate a genuine disease, say diabetes, with some phobia or quirk deemed to be “an illness”, and yet in the past insurance companies have been required to cough up big bucks to cover claims for all sorts of oddball conditions that according to psychiatry, require treatment.
Aside from these clinical and political considerations, the actual profession itself has in-house problems. Everything from fraudulent billing schemes to abuse of patients. It is estimated that in the US alone, some 150,000 women have been sexually exploited by psychiatrists.
Psychiatry is host to a lot of the above problems because you have practitioners vested with a great deal of power working with vulnerable and suggestible people who are easily manipulated. Even if only a minority of psychiatrists engage in overt criminal activities, the damage nonetheless has widely felt repercussions.
Organizations such as the Citizens Commission on Human Rights and the World Network of Users and Survivors of Psychiatry have pertinent stats and information relating to many of the issues raised in this article.
Given the record of psychiatry and the dangers it ironically poses to psychological and emotional health, it was frankly astounding that Tom Cruise was made the target of so much criticism. It is often the case that people react this way when they sense there is in fact a problem, but have no inclination to deal with it. The whistle blower in such a case will always come under attack because let’s face it, given our crazy world these days, people live with the expectation that at some point they too may need those meds one day.
So Tom sssshhhhh, and don’t make waves.

With the wide range of opportunity available to obtain an online degree, it almost doesn’t make sense to go to a university or college. Of course online courses will never be able to match the full immersion that an actual insitution can offer, but for someone who is working, or tied down with other commitments, it can open doors that where closed before.
Whether you need to upgrade your education for a promotion at work, or to even just get the job that you want, an online education might be right for you. It’s generally more affordable and most importantly flexible then a competing course at a university or college.
Online universities are striving constantly to become more reputable, and to offer courses in competitive fields. Keeping that in mind, the entrance requirements are typically the same for both online & offline.
A typical online degree can be completed in about 3 years, but of course that varies on how much commitment you give to the course, and also if you have any previous credits that are applicable. One of the most important things to do when considering out on the path of an online education is to do your research! Research both the history of the school, as well as the current reputation, and if the degree you will obtain will be recognized for what it is you need down the road. There has been instances in the past where some online institutions have basically just been selling degrees, which can lead to several problems such as: Loss of jobs, and involvement with authorities.
Keep a level head on your shoulders, do your homework, and you will make out just fine!

For the homeschooling parent, organization is
never ending. There are thousands of ways to
organize your lessons, your schoolroom, your
schedule, your materials…..
The best advice I can give about organization is
keep it simple. If you have a complicated, color
coded, alphabetical, by subject, per child filling
system that takes ten minutes per paper to catalogue
you are not going to follow through. A spread sheet
works great.
Use plastic tubs to store each child’s school
materials and have lots of paper, pencils glue and
crayons. Buy notebooks by the gross, you will use a
million of them.
Organizing lesson plans can be as simple as using
a colored folder for each child. Print each weeks
assignments and divide the subjects with different
colored paper. Personally, I print the assignments
for each week and staple each day separately. I was
taking way too much time hole punching all of the lessons
to make up folders. Now we just staple each days lessons
together and they take that days lessons out of the folder.
Finding the best method of organization for your
homeschool is trial and error. Try something for a
while, if it isn’t working rethink the problem and try
something else. Get your kids involved. If they think
up an idea they’re more likely to try it.

One of the most difficult cards to understand in the Tarot deck is the Hierophant. One of the main reasons is that unlike most of the other cards, such as The Magician, The Emperor and The Fool, many people don’t have the slightest idea what a hierophant even is, inside or outside of the Tarot. This makes understanding this card and putting it into context a lot more challenging. Hopefully, this article will explain The Hierophant well enough so that you end up with a pretty decent understanding of what this card is all about.
Since most people don’t really know what the word itself means, let’s dig into the dictionary and see what we come up with. According to the dictionary, a hierophant comes from ancient Greece and is somebody who expounds of rites of worship and sacrifice. It is also an interpreter of mysteries and esoteric principals.
It might come as a surprise to you, but the meaning of this card, as it applies to the Tarot, has very little to do with the dictionary meaning. Of course that is also true with cards like the Magician. However, now that you have some frame of reference, you’ll be able to at least loosely relate the card to the real world definition.
In the Tarot, The Hierophant represents somebody who can be stubborn and exasperating. This person is constantly searching for truth without realizing that the truth he is seeking is inside of himself. He’s just too stubborn to realize and accept this fact. This person is totally against any changes in his life. In addition to this, the card represents somebody who is very concerned with outward appearances and likes to impress others. This person often belongs just for the sake of belonging.
In reversed position, this card represents somebody who is original and not afraid to take chances. This person is a real adventurer and has a totally open mind. This card can also represent somebody who will be willing to listen to new ideas that the subject might have. This card can indicate that the subject should speak his mind and have the courage of his convictions. In extreme readings, this card can signify that something new and refreshing is going to come into the person’s life.
The Hierophant is one of those cards where the reverse position is actually positive, which further reaffirms that not all cards, when in reverse, are negative.

Black boards, or chalkboards as they are popularly called, were developed by a teacher who found it impossible to solve long mathematical equations on every child’s personal board. Some chalkboards were as simple as wooden boards painted with black grit; others were made of porcelain and imported from the United Kingdom. Eventually, chalkboards made of large slabs of slate were being shipped across America with the growth of the railroad industry.
Today chalkboards come in different types and sizes. Some examples of chalkboards are porcelain on steel magnetic chalkboards, composition chalkboards, free-standing reversible chalkboards, display/menu chalkboards, A-Frame sidewalk chalkboards, multi-task easels, lap boards, combination boards, music staff lined chalkboards, fused lines and graphics boards. Chalkboard frames are made of different materials like oak, teakwood, plastic, and aluminum and are generally green or black in color. Some are lined with felt so as to be used as a tack board.
As of now, the usage of chalk-based blackboards has been considerably reduced, most likely because of the emergence of whiteboards that work with dry-ease and water-soluble markers that are simpler to use. In the case of classic chalkboards, the board has to be properly seasoned, and water and chalk should be prevented from mixing on its surface, as it leads to board deterioration. This is not necessary with white boards, and, thus, they are convenient and very easy to use.
Things have come a long way since the old slate chalkboards. With the advent of newer teaching equipment, like projectors and computers, the use of chalkboards might look to be dwindling, but they have always been a favorite with teachers.
